Traditional skills with a modern twist
Having had a rural upbringing, my designs are predominantly influenced by the glorious natural surroundings in my native North Yorkshire.
In particular, I encompass forms from nature within my forge work. These objects are created by “forging” the metal i.e. using tools to hammer, bend, cut, and shape metal in its plastic state.
Wrought ironwork, in the modern sense, is metal that has been wrought (i.e. worked hot) into a finished product. I have a vast experience of working with a wide range of materials such as wrought iron, steel, stainless steel, copper and brass. The custom metalwork I produce is of a very high standard.
